City of Newark Adopts First New Zoning Ordinance in 60 Years!

Due to massive efforts by many dedicated residents and the Newark Planning Office, the Municipal Council unanimously approved to adopt the Newark Zoning and Land Use Regulations (NZLUR) on Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Periodic revision of a city's zoning ordinance is essential for a city to thrive. Many workshops were held throughtout the city to take the residents input into consideration. This will encourage new development and help improve the quality of future development and projects. This ordinance should help propel the city forward.
